Abstract

Single crystals of the sparingly compound As2S3 were grown in sodium silicate gel. In order to determine the conditions of growth, the effects due to the change in the concentration of the reactants, the pH of the gel solution impregnated with the inner reactant, the density of the gel solution and ageing of the gel on the growth of As2S3 were investigated and discussed. Chemical and X-ray diffraction studies were made.
