Abstract
The chemical composition of the essential oil obtained from the leaves of Artemisia annua collected from the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand, was analyzed by GC-MS. The major constituent was found out to be (Z)-βFarnesene (18.80%). The antibacterial and antifungal activity of the oil was determined by disc diffusion method. Results showed that the oil exhibited mild antimicrobial activity.
