Abstract

The analytical power of a new element-selective detector for capillary gas chromatography, based on atomic absorption spectrometry with wavelength-modulated laser diodes in modulated plasmas, is demonstrated by measurements of (i) volatile chlorinated hydrocarbons in oil samples from the recycling process of plastic material and (ii) low concentrations of trichlorophenols in extracts prepared from plants loaded with chlorophenols.
