Abstract

HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) is the virus that causes AIDS (Acquired Immuno Deficiency Syndrome) which attacks the human immune system and weakens the body's ability to fight all diseases. At the VCT clinic in Puskesmas Lubuk Baja Batam, there were 523 people who had self-examination, 30 people were detected HIV positive from January to April 2018, and those who took ART treatment were 70 people from January to June 2018. Sexual behavior is a behavior that arises because of encouragement sexual, risky sexual behavior HIV AIDS that gay men do includes oral and anal, and other actions that allow the exchange of fluids. The design of this study uses correlational analysis with the Cross Sectional approach. The population of this study was Gay who was being examined and undergoing treatment in Voluntary Counseling And Testing (VCT) of Puskesmas Lubuk Baja Batam, and the sampling technique with Accidental Sampling was 40 respondents. The instrument used in data collection was a questionnaire. The results of the study were analyzed by univariate and bivariate. Univariate results show that more than half of respondents had high risk gay behavior as many as 24 people (60%) and more than half of the respondents infected with HIV were 32 people (80%). The results of the study were analyzed by Chi-Square test obtained p value = 0.004 where p value <0.05 means that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected, then there is a relationship between Sexual Gay Behavior at Risk with HIV Events in Voluntary Counseling And Testing (VCT) Lubuk Baja Health Center Batam. Thus it is hoped that health workers can provide health education about safe sexual behavior and do not transmit HIV.
