Abstract

A 7-year-old autistic girl with parorexia presented with abdominal pain and vomiting. A plain radiograph of the abdomen demonstrated a loop of radiopaque foreign bodies that appeared to be stuck one to the other (A). On examination, there was no sign of peritoneal irritation. At emergency endoscopy, parts of a magnetic construction toy, consisting of rods and spheres, were found in the stomach. The proximal end was stuck to a rugal fold in the body of the stomach (B); the distal end continued into the duodenum (C).
