Introduction

Gastric cancer is the fourth most common cancer in the world with a 5-year survival rate of 25%[1,2]. There have been randomized and non-randomized trials about adjuvant perioperative intraperitoneal chemotherapy compared to surgery alone for resectable primary gastric cancer without peritoneal spread. There may be some effective palliation of gastric cancer resections in patients with peritoneal metastases, there is no long-term improvement in survival.
