Abstract

This article covers instrumentation, GC columns and operating practices for GC/MS including computer processing of data and quantitative aspects. A section on sample preparation discusses various derivatives for different compound types to make them thermally stable and accessible to the technique. Finally, the use of stable isotope-labeled compounds is discussed.
