Abstract
The separation of trimethylsilyl ether derivatives of steroids was studied on glass capillary columns. Steroid reference compounds as well as steroids from biological material were injected without stream splitting and separated on phases OV 101 and SF 96. Capillary columns of this type allowed a much better gas chromatographic separation compared with packed ones. The prepurification procedure for biological material (e.g. urine samples) and the time required for a gas chromatographic run were reduced.
