Abstract
1. Retention indices have been obtained for 40 heterocyclic sulfur-containing compounds on Apiezon M, Silicone OV-17, Triton X-305, and Polyethylene glycol-1000 at 130°C. 2. The effect of the cyclic structure, and alkyl substituents, on the elutriation of the heterocyclie S compounds is discussed. 3. Equations relating the retention index and the number of carbon atoms in the n-alkyl chain are proposed for the 2-n-alkyl-1,3-dithiolanes.
