Abstract
Plans for U.S. participation in the Global Atmospheric Research Program (GARP), as developed by the U.S. Committee for GARP, and related scientific, technological, and organizational factors will be presented and discussed by members of the GARP Committee and by invited speakers. The meeting is planned mainly to inform atmospheric scientists about plans for GARP, especially those researchers interested in participating in various aspects of GARP. Sponsors include the AGU, the American Meteorological Society, and the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research in Cooperation with the National Academy of Sciences. The National Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder will serve as host. Richard J. Reed, National Academy of Sciences, is Program Chairman.
