Abstract

The49V level scheme has been studied by the49Ti(p, nγ)49V reaction at various bombarding energies between 2 and 4 MeV. Gammaray single and coincident spectra have been observed; the branching ratios of various levels were measured and information about their spin and parity has been deduced. The level scheme is in good agreement with the results of the Coriolis coupling model calculations of Malik and Scholz. Some even-parity levels are present which show the typical pattern of a rotational band based upon the 1d3/2 hole excitation.
