Abstract

This study aimed to determine students’ career aspirations. The sample comprised 30 respondents. This study used a descriptive quantitative data collection tool in the form of a questionnaire. The data analysis technique used was central tendency analysis. The results of the research data analysis showed that the average score for career aspirations for class VIIIA UPTD students at SMP Negeri 4 Kupang was 173,400, which was in the range– of 162-199, belonging to the high category. The results of the analysis of each aspect of class VIIIA career aspirations are as follows: the aspect of aspirations with a score of 56.18 in the range of scores 55-67 belongs to the high category; the aspect of desire with a score of 58.85 in the range of score 55-67 belongs to the high category; and the aspect of determination heart with a score of 57.56 in the range of scores 55-67 belongs to the high category. The results of the research data analysis showed that students' career aspirations were classified as high; therefore, guidance and counseling teachers need to provide recommendations to maintain good career aspirations by providing and designing career guidance programs.
