Abstract


 Introduction : Multidrug-resistant TB (MDR TB) is a type of TB that is resistant to at least two of the first-line TB antimicrobials, isoniazid (INH) and rifampin (RMP), with or without resistance to other TB antimicrobials. The factors causing MDR-TB were age, gender, education level, income, occupation, medication adherence, knowledge, attitudes, stigma, smoking habits, the role of PMO, and side effects of treatment.Purpose : This study aims to identify the causative factors of multidrug resistant tuberculosis in Haji Adam Malik General Hospital Medan 2022.Method : This study used a descriptive research design. Sampling in this study used purposive sampling technique, the respondents were 27 peopleResult : The results obtained from the description of the Causes of Multidrug-Resistant Tuberculosis at Haji Adam Malik Hospital Medan 2022 aged 36-45 were 8 people (29.6%), 16 men (59.3%), 11 high school graduates (40.7%), working as self-employed as many as 9 people (33.3%), low income as many as 17 people (62.96%), smoking as many as 16 people (59.3%), the role of PMO is good as many as 27 people (100%), There are Drug Side Effects as many as 25 people (92.6%), Obedient to taking medication as many as 20 people (74.7%), good knowledge 20 people (74.7%), Good Attitude as many as 22 people (81.48%), Low Community Stigma as many as 16 people (59.26%), Stigma Patients Height of 15 people (55.56%). Conclusion : It is hoped that the results of this study can be a source of information and materials to increase patient knowledge.
