Abstract

The railway car body is required to carry passengers safely and comfortably. Due to train accident, it is necessary to improve impact resistance and prevent the deformation of the railway car body. So, increasing adoption of double skin construction which is produced by a hollow extruded aluminum railway car body. This study analyzed the amount of displacement of the load plus the double-skin structure used in railway vehicles. The specimen is made using an epoxy resin. Analysis, using a three-point bending test, the amount of displacement is calculated by digital image correlation method and high-speed video camera, a comparative study.
