Abstract
Information systems project selection is a multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) problem. This work develops a fuzzy approach based on the technique for order performance by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS), to choose optimal information system in a fuzzy environment where the data are often incomplete or not so deterministic. In this paper, the importance weight of each criterion and the rating of each alternative are described in linguistic terms and expressed in triangular fuzzy numbers. By aggregating the individual opinion, the distances of each alternative from the fuzzy positive ideal solution and the fuzzy negative ideal solution are computed respectively with a vertex method. Then, a closeness coefficient is obtained to rank order of all alternatives. Finally, a real case demonstrates the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method.
