Abstract

The magnetic levitation ball system has nonlinear and open loop instability. The traditional PID control system has good stability. But when the system is disturbed by the outside factor, the control performance of the system is limited because of the fixed PID parameters. In this paper, a fuzzy PID controller which could adjust the PID parameters on-line to enhance the robustness of the system was designed. The experimental study was carried out on the dSPACE platform. The experimental results show that the proposed control strategy exhibits better control character than that of the traditional PID control. The fuzzy PID control can reduce the overshoot of the system and has better anti-interference capability.
