Abstract

An excavator, one of most popular construction equipment, holds an important position in construction equipment market. In spite of the popularity, a lot of operator feels difficulties when they control the machine because not only its sophisticated operation method but also uncomfortable reaction such as machine shock. Especially, in stopping situation after swinging, cross-raised pressure induces swing rebound phenomenon and it generates swing shock. Therefore it is necessary to reduce swing rebound for improving controllability and satisfying operator's demand. This paper applies two different kinds of methods in MATLAB Simulink due to control swing rebound phenomenon: open loop control and fuzzy logic control. The open loop control method shows fair simulation result with two input factors, pilot pressure of swing lever and differential pressure between inlet and outlet of swing motor. But the open loop control method remains rebound phenomenon. On the other hands, the fuzzy logic control method shows better result with three input factors: add swing angle velocity. In accordance with the simulation results, the fuzzy logic control method shows more efficient.
