Abstract
The main problem of particle physics to day is mostly an experimental one. One badly needs some experimental clues on the direction to take in order to proceed beyond the closed layer of knowledge in particle physics embodied by the standard model. There are many indications, as we have seen, that important new physics can be reve~led by experiments probing the TeV energy region. The future of the f~tscinating subject of particle physics depends on the possibility that the present accelerators a.nd the ones under development will indeed discover departures from the present theory, thus giving the necessary new impulse to the field.
