Abstract

The advent of powerful and inexpensive computers has created discernible trends within the hospitality industry of the United States. Some trends, such as the use of information management systems for operational and financial control, are progressing in predictable fashion. Others, such as the use of simulations and expert systems are less predictable. Regardless of the trends, computers will remain as tools which do not change the fundamental nature of hospitality.
