Abstract

SummarySequential stages in the fusion and lysis of nonnucleated cells (human erythrocytes) by Sendai virus were visualized with phase contrast microscopy, and with electron microscopy of thin sections and replicas of frozen-etched membranes. By the latter technique, intramembranal structural changes associated with viral action were demonstrated.
