Abstract

Yarn-pullout behavior from a woven fabric is an important indicator of the mechanism of yarn interactions within the fabric. An analytical model is presented to describe the yarn-pullout behavior from woven fabric. This model is based on the free vibration caused by the orthogonal threads and can describe the motion of the yarn-pullout force. It was observed that the stick-slip-motion behavior obtained with the theoretical model agrees well with the experimental results obtained on polyester-fiber continuous-filament yarns.
