Abstract
Art is the highest representative form of human aesthetic consciousness,and its plural functions are established upon its aesthetic features base. Since every artwork could not exist without aesthetic value,therefore,when we discuss main function of art,we must take aesthetics as the core word to relate such functions listed as follows: aesthetic recognition function,aesthetic education function,aesthetic amusement function,and aesthetic experience function. This will help us to analyze a great deal of artistic phenomena in art history,and to interpret and appraise certain artworks. Art's aesthetic recognition function refers that people could know about human,society,nature,and history in a peculiar and influential way through art activities. Aesthetic education function refers that acceptors could comprehend truth,virtue,and beauty through appreciation of artworks,which will help acceptors unconsciously approach,approve,and admire the value and power of truth,virtue,and beauty,and this will further help acceptors to promote in their living philosophy,world overview,and humanistic spirit.
