Abstract

After the AP exam in BC Calculus, I am always faced with the question of curriculum. To delve into new major topics one needs sufficient time, and we usually have only about two weeks. In my school, the AP exam is a surrogate final, and all enrolled in an AP course must take the corresponding exam. So I have to combat both the feeling of anticlimax and “senioritis.” I have, however, found an answer that works for me. I have devised a set of mini topics, each of which takes just two or three days to develop and which uses much of the mathematics that we have learned through the year. One such topic deals with the Fibonacci sequence.
