Abstract

Abstract: Fruit classification using a Deep Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) is a promising application of computer Vision in this AI-driven decade. Fruit Recognition has been gaining attraction in recent years due to its application in agriculture and food industry. In this project, we propose a multi-fruit classification scheme based on Deep Convolutional Neural Network and we aim to build a Deep Neural Network to correctly identify the fruits and classify them according to their quality that is- into fresh and rotten. A fruit recognition process usually comprises of three steps: 1. Image acquisition 2. Pre-processing 3. Image analysis.
