Abstract

Recent progress of high-performance afterglow materials obtained by a two-component design strategy is reviewed. Due to the unique advantages of two-component design strategies, various derivative strategies such as the dopant-matrix design, donor–acceptor design, sensitization and energy transfer strategies can be applied to manipulate triplet excited states. This Review article on page 5 ff. presents the latest achievements categorized by different design strategies, discusses the underlying mechanisms, and describes applications of organic afterglow materials in specific areas.
