Abstract

Developing efficient electrocatalysts is of great significance for electrochemical CO2 reduction to produce many value-added chemicals such as carbon monoxide (CO), formic acid (HCOOH), methane (CH4), ethylene (C2H4), ethanol (C2H5OH), etc. Among many synthetic strategies, electrodeposition is an environmentally friendly and efficient technique that only requires simple equipment. herein, the authors discuss recent advances in design and preparation of various electro-synthesized catalysts for CO2 reduction.
