Abstract
The four-electron oxidation of water is critical for achieving artificial photosynthesis. Inspired by a natural system for water oxidation, a function-integrated catalytic system, which has both catalytic centers and charge transporting units, has been developed. A newly designed carbazole-tethered cobalt phthalocyanine was electrochemically polymerized to afford polymer-based material. The obtained polymer exhibited high charge transfer ability and catalyzed water oxidation reaction effectively.
