Abstract
The Front Cover shows a real microfluidic microbial fuel cell (MFC) used in this study. Three graphical elements are superimposed to highlight critical design enhancements over previous literature examples. These include an oxygen protection barrier, embedded graphite electrodes for robust operation and faster redox kinetics, as well as computer simulations to reduce anolyte/catholyte cross-over to the opposite electrode. Bringing these improvements together into the same platform offers new opportunities to bridge the gap between the micro- and macro-MFC studies. More information can be found in the Article by M. A.
