Abstract

At the end of the XIX century, early - XX century it is known that at first the children of the local population of Kyrgyzstan received their primary education in religious schools. Such a school played an important role in primary education, the eradication of illiteracy and moral education. The number of Kyrgyz youth seeking education and science is growing. The article examines the state of traditional education of Kyrgyzstan, the level of literacy development in the region with primary schools. It tells about the opening of schools and madrassas of Kyrgyzstan, the activities of Muslim schools, and the elimination of illiteracy.
