In 17 chapters the editor and his team of collaborators offer a comprehensive survey of consumer electronics, that is to say such electronics-based hardware that will probably find its place in the home, either now or in the near future. The range is wide – from videodiscs to home security devices; from teletext and viewdata to electronic watches.
