Abstract
Food waste has become a worldwide problem for many years, and Malaysia's high levels of waste are making climate change worse and putting food security at risk. The study explores the factors influencing food waste intention during online ordering among young adults in the Klang Valley using a purposive sampling method. Data were collected through an online questionnaire, resulting in 312 valid responses from young adults who have utilised at least one online delivery app. The data were analysed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). The findings reveal that attitude, subjective norm, perceived behavioural control, and price consciousness significantly influence the behavioural intention to reduce food waste, with attitude having the highest mean score. These insights offer policy recommendations for governments, restaurants, meal-ordering platforms, and consumers to efficiently minimise food waste.
