Abstract

In the practice of higher education, there exists a tendency towards scientism, whose major characteristic is to transfer the purpose of scientific education to train experts in the chosen fields of learning. This short-sighted and benefit-seeking conception in education indicates not only a deep educational crisis, but also a cultural and social crisis in its real sense. Medical colleges and universities are the cradle of future medical workers, so it is imperative to strengthen humanistic education in medical schools and to integrate scientific education and humanistic education. This is significant not only to the training of well-developed educators, but also to the rectification, reparation of the new questions for study in the context of highly developed medical technology, and the construction of harmonious doctor-patient relations. Key words: Scientism; Scientific education; Humanistic education; Integration
