Abstract

Abstract This article examines the three main trailers for Star Trek Beyond (2016), each of which uses music differently. By analyzing the audiovisual content of the trailers and their popular reception, conclusions are drawn about the structures, processes, and commercial considerations of music and sound in contemporary Hollywood action-film trailers.
