Abstract

Abstract: The two-act drama explores the transformation in the Mississippi Delta in the wake of the death of Emmett Louis Till, the Chicago teenager who was murdered in the summer of 1955. Benevolence explains the toll of the legacy of enslavement on individuals and families. It tells the story of two women, the men in their lives, and their experiences during this time.
