Abstract
Abstract This essay explores the cross-cultural interplay between North American mission boards and emerging Latin American voices in the conceptualization of Latin America as a mission field. The essay also argues for the recognition of Latin America and the Caribbean in the study of world Christianity beyond the typical recognition of liberation theology and revolutionary movements.
