Abstract

Ten members of Congress have been presented with the Friends of Science Award by the National Coalition for Science and Technology (NCST). The award, to honor significant contributions to science, engineering, and science education, is made every 2 years at the end of each Congress. The recipients are Rep. George E. Brown, Jr . (D.‐Calif.), Rep. Don Fuqua (D.‐Fla.), Rep. Bill Green (R.‐N.Y.), Rep. Harold C. Hollenbeck (R.N.J.), Sen. Edward Kennedy (D.‐Mass.), Sen. Charles McC. Mathias (D.‐Md.), Rep. Doug Walgren (D.‐Pa.), Rep. Timothy Wirth (D.Colo.), Rep. Mervyn Dymally (D.‐Calif.), and Rep. Claudine Schneider (R.‐R.L). All but Hollenbeck will return for another term.
