Abstract

Domestic water use, or the water used in and around the home including water for indoor and outdoor use, is critical for maintaining human health and well-being. People use freshwater systems in a variety of ways to meet their domestic water needs. However, as the human population has grown, the pressure of domestic use on freshwater systems has increased. Despite mounting concerns over diminishing water quantity and quality, new opportunities for safe and accessible domestic water use are being implemented.
