Abstract

An overview is presented of renewable fresh water resources, urban water supplies and waste management systems in four Asian countries. The water resource, water supply and waste management development plans for certain urban areas in each country are looked at. Conclusions are drawn on the approaches which would improve water resource protection and help ensure sustainable urban water supply and waste management systems in the countries studied.
