Abstract

A frequency selective rasorber (FSR) which has two wide absorption bands and a passband is presented in this paper. A lossy FSS consisting of tripole loop with three lumped resistor and a lossless FSS consisting of tripole slots are used to form a double-layer structure. In order to comprehend the principle of operation and predict the performance of the FSR, an equivalent circuit model (ECM) is modelled. After the presented FSR is meticulously designed, a prototype of the FSR is manufactured and tested. Measured S parameters shows that the FSR has a passband around 5 GHz, and below and above the passband, the frequencies of |S 11 | < - 10 dB covers from 3.05 to 8.81 GHz. The measured results agree well with the simulation results.
