Abstract
A wavelength shifter (WLS) will be installed in the Siam Photon Source Storage ring at National Synchrotron Research Center (NSRC) in Thailand and the beam energy will be raised from 1.0 to 1.2 GeV for producing X-rays. Non-linear effects of the WLS at different working points are investigated in detail by frequency map analysis, and insight to the inner structure of the dynamic aperture is given. The results show that the resonances become more critical, and the size of the dynamic aperture reduces, if the WLS operates in the ring. Local corrections of the betatron functions and the dispersion function together with recovery of the operation point with the global correction lead to an improvement of the operation characteristics and make them comparable to those of the ring without WLS.
