Abstract

In order to avoid transverse shear locking and to improve the accuracy, the RES-DSG3 method is proposed by incorporating a non-isoparametric DSG method with a novel smoothing technique based on global coordinates, and all the integration of smoothed matrices can be calculated along the boundary segments of smoothing cells without coordinate mapping. Based on the first-order shear theory, the RES-DSG3 method is used to analysis free vibration natural frequencies of composite laminates from different material parameters, edge thickness ratio and boundary conditions. The free vibration of composite laminates is analyzed numerically. The calculation of the example verifies the feasibility and effectiveness of the method.
