Abstract
Abstract A solution is presented for the heat transfer due to natural convection from a horizontal isothermal cylinder to a fluid whose rheological behavior is characterized by the Ellis model. The results from the analysis are compared with experimental data. A discussion is provided for the choice of the rheological model to be used for natural convection in non-Newtonian fluids.
