Abstract

This article is about my experience of life and work in Syria from 2008 to 2011. Writing this story gave me the opportunity to reflect on two different Syrias. The pre-revolution Syria which was characterized by tourism, international rehabilitation, economic liberalization and democratic openings and the post-spring 2011 Syria, a country where fear, hatred and repression became increasingly spread, triggering the serious humanitarian crisis that still shakes the country.
