Abstract
Abstract3D descriptions of real scene are widely used for virtual studios and special effects in virtual production. There is an increasing demand for the use 3D models in realistic broadcasting applications. However, due to the limitation of system resources, densely captured 3D models should be simplified into a small size of meshes. Virtual CG(Computer Graphic) objects or real scenes can be considered as collections of rough 3D models. When CG objects are synthesized in these real scenes, smooth rendered scene due to optical interactions, such as lighting reflections and shadows, may not be produced. Although rough 3D models are used for optical interactions, smooth rendering can be achieved by using adaptive subdivision techniques.
