Abstract

The mean-field study of the stripe phases of the t-t′-U Hubbardmodel confirms the formation of the in-gap subbands of stateslocalized on the domain walls. For bond-aligned stripes it isshown that segments of Fermi surfaces in antinodal and nodaldirections correspond to the in-gap band or to that delocalized overa whole antiferromagnet domain. This can explain the dichotomybetween the corresponding quasiparticles inLa2 − xSrxCuO4 (LSCO) and thesuppression of spectral weight in the nodal direction inunderdoped LSCO. The Fermi surface changes its topology with doping. It is confirmed also that diagonal stripes can provide aninsulating state at nonzero doping.
