Abstract

Fragmentations in space due to explosion or collision spawn multifarious Debris particles in space that exponentially populate the space environment and pose a threat to space activities. Therefore, for pragmatic assessment of space situation and timely dissemination of Space Situational Awareness (SSA) information, fragmentation analysis is of high significance. The Low Earth Orbit (LEO) region is the most crucial area for fragmentation studies as the spatial density is much higher in LEO as compared to the other regions of space. LEO region is also the most suited to analyze fragmentations as more small debris can be tracked compared to higher orbits. The current manuscript therefore embodies a methodology wherein it detects a fragmentation event time, location and identifies the sources for the event.
