Abstract

We present the results of investigation of stable cracks in films of amorphous polyarylatesulfone. We show that a stable crack can be interpreted as a self-similar stochastic fractal, the dimension of which has a clear physical sense, namely, it is inversely proportional to the stress concentration near the tip of a crack.
