Abstract
In this paper, the mechanical properties of 5083 aluminum alloy sheet were put under tensile test at different temperatures, and the fracture form and basic law of fracture were qualitatively analyzed. The program of fractal fracture morphology by the box-counting method was developed based on the fractal principle. We calculated the fractal dimension of the material at different temperatures, determined its relationship with tensile deformation properties at different temperatures, and established a quantitative theoretical relationship. The results show that the fractal dimension of 5083 aluminum alloy sheet at different tensile deformation temperatures is between 1.77 and 1.79 and the fractal dimension, yield strength, and tensile strength decrease with the growing deformation temperature. At the same tensile deformation temperature, the higher the magnification, the greater the fractal dimension of the scanning electron microscopy image.
