Abstract

The fractal dimension dynamics of photoinduced light scattering (PILS) pictures layers in stoichiometric lithium niobate single crystals grown by different methods is first searched. The informativity of fractal analysis was revealed to be higher than the analysis of angle of PILS indicatrix. The transfer of the energy from laser beam to the PILS layers is confirmed. It was discovered that density of laser-induced defects is higher in PILS layers of stoichiometric lithium niobate single crystals grown from congruous melt containing K2O than in stoichiometric crystals grown by usual method at excitation by the laser radiation of the same power.
