Abstract

In this paper, the design of voltage regulation controller for 400 Hz four-leg matrix converter has addressed for varying load conditions. 400 Hz frequency converters are frequently in use across naval, aerospace, and military applications, those applications are regularly requiring a precise output voltage regulation with a strict performance specification. Four-leg matrix converter has introduced as an electronic interface between 50/60 Hz power sources and 400 Hz loads, with added the attractive feature of working under sever unbalanced and non- linear loads. However, the voltage regulation of 400 Hz is challenging due to limited control bandwidth, and traditional controllers have failed alone to achieve a proper voltage regulation, so repetitive controller proposed as a critical solution to the control problem. The repetitive controller has achieved a precise voltage regulation, steady-state errors reduction with higher stability. Simulink simulation represented as well to validate the repetitive controller effectiveness.
